Eye Movement Integration

EMI or Eye Movement Integration is used to treat trauma and used in combination with Neuro Linguistic Programming to help increase the level of efficacy. When working with any level of trauma EMI or eye movement integration can help clear trauma incidents with the intentional bilateral stimulation of the brain through eye movement.

In the session the client will think about the trauma, follow the eye movement and listen to the Neuro Linguistic Programming words and the emotions separate from the traumatic event as the outcome of treatment. Many clients describe the experience as a weight being lifted and not being able to bring the traumatic event up in their mind after treatment.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of psychotherapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy has been extensively researched and has demonstrated effectiveness for trauma.

EMDR, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. Part of the therapy includes alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.
